A geographic information system (GIS) is a system that creates, manages, analyzes, and maps all types of data. Almost every industry and most academic fields now use GIS tools such as interactive digital maps, databases, and online dashboards. In this public lecture, GIS educators Dr. Joseph Kerski and Mr. Mark Stewart of ESRI, the global GIS technology firm, will introduce this powerful technology with examples from a variety of fields.
