This workshop will examine a range of skills and concepts necessary for engaging and evaluating the digital medium we rely on in our personal and public lives. Learning, business, entertainment, relationships and behavior are increasingly negotiated through information and communication technologies, dependent on electricity and controlled by digital code. This introduces volatile complications of access, persistence, privacy, and reliability while influencing us through virtual content, movements, images, and sounds. In order to meaningfully operate and participate in this format, we need a wide set of critical skills to assess the data we encounter.
